Staff Profile
Mr. Ngin Saorath has been serving as the Executive Director of CDPO since 2005. He holds a Bachelor Degree of English Literature and a Master Degree of Public Administration. He has been involved with disability work since 1997. In 1999 he received a scholarship to study Leadership and Independent Living of People with Disabilities in Japan. Under his leadership, CDPO has produced significant achievements such as the development of 46 DPOs within 23 provinces, including 8 Women with Disability Forums. He coordinated the organisation of the International Day for Disabled People (IDDP) from 2005 to 2008, which was a resounding success. As a person with disability, he has a strong commitment and is working toward the promotion of dignity and equal rights and social welfare of people with disability in Cambodia through his service with CDPO. He has a dream to build a “Society for All” where people with disabilities are living without discrimination in Cambodia.
Mr. Kham Piseth, Position: Program Manger
Piseth has seven years of work experience in the social development sector in Cambodia. He has been providing day-to-day management and leadership to CDPO’s programme staff since 2008. He served as an advisor to local NGOs through the German Development Service (DED), an English translator for Fauna and Flora International (FFI), and an English interpreter for Maharishi Vedic University (MVU). Piseth holds a bachelor of Rural Development and a Master of Business Administration from MVU. His must-do activities during his free time are reading, listening to audio books, meditation, and reading and visualizing his life goals. CDPO is a place where he can align his mission to work toward positively changes on the lives of people.
Ms. Heng Channtey, Position: Senior Program Officer – Advocacy and Rights Protection
Channtey has worked for CDPO for over six years. She contributes to the disability movement in Cambodia with a variety of activities such as advocacy and lobbying with government ministries, DPOs and Women with Disability Forums (WWDF) development, disability awareness raising training and events, radio talk shows, workshop and forum facilitation, rights monitoring reporting and positioning paper writing. She recently graduated as a Master of Business Administration and completed many personal development courses.
Mr. Eang Chan Dara, Position: Senior Program Officer - Awareness Raising and Visibility
Dara has worked in the Cambodian disability sector for more than nine years. He contributes to
the disability movement in Cambodia through his work on raising awareness on rights, issues and needs of People with Disabilities (PWDs). His experience with CDPO includes facilitation and organization of live radio programs, development of awareness raising tools, facilitation and organization of workshop and public forums, providing disability rights awareness to INGO and staff members. He graduated with a Master Degree in Development Management and a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. He is interesting in working with CDPO because it provides him opportunities to show the capacities.
Ms. Phum Lakena, Position: Program Officer - Awareness Raising and Visibility
Lakena has worked for CDPO since 2008. She contributes to the disability movement in Cambodia through her work on raising awareness on rights, issues and needs of PWDs. Her experience with CDPO includes facilitation and organization of live radio programs, taking part in development of awareness raising tools, facilitation and organization of workshop and public forums, writing articles on disability for newsletters, magazines, and compiling press releases. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Accounting. She is interested in working with CDPO because she has a lot of opportunities for applying her many skills to disability development and also for building her own capacity.
Mr. Yim Mean, Position: Senior Program Officer – Disabled People’s Organization Development
Mean has eighteen years of work experience with UN agencies such as United Nations High Commissio
ner for Refugee (UNHCR), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), INGOs and CNGOs. He also has experience in community development and Income generation activities for the poor people in the remote areas. He has started working for CDPO in 2007 and has contributed to the establishment of a network of Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs) in most provinces of Cambodia. He facilitates meetings, trainings, and workshops for Persons with Disabilities and partners organizations. He graduated from high school and attended the Faculty of Pedagogy for Psychology and general Pedagogy where he graduated in 1974. Mean is interested in CDPO because he can learn and get new experiences on disability, which can help him to become a good facilitator for DPO development.
Mr. Chhor Bonnaroath, Position: Abilis Facilitator
Bonnaroath has more than 14-year experiences in the social development sector and a background in education, adult learning, human rights, women and children’s rights, good governance, advocacy and as well as decentralization. He has started working at CDPO in July 2010. He contributes to the disability movement in Cambodia through his work on taking care of the day-to-day management of the CDPO-Abilis Partnership Program in Cambodia. He graduated as a junior high school teacher and a senior high school teacher. He is interested in working with CDPO because it provides him opportunities to show the ability.
Ms. Hen Rachanak, Position: Program Assistant – Disabled People’s Organization Development
Rachanak has worked for CDPO since 2007. She contributes to the disability movement in Ca
mbodia through taking part in monitoring and providing coaching to Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs), and Federations and Women with Disabilities’ Forum (WWDF), assisting in facilitation of network meeting, training and workshop. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Accounting in 2008. She is interested in working for CDPO because CDPO provides opportunities for staffs to build their capacity.
Ms: So Sophea, Position: Program Assistant - Disabled People’s Organization Development
Mr. Ky Sophan, Position: Finance and Admin Manager
Mr. Vong Monea, Position: Finance and Admin Officer
Monea has four years of work experience in the business and social development sector. He has spent more than three years on the disability movement in Cambodia through working with CDPO since 2007. He contributes to the disability movement in Cambodia through taking part in the management of day-to-day financial and accounting operations , monitoring and controlling expenditure of DPOs or WWDFs, preparing monthly financial reports for Finance Admin Manager and Donors, providing training on financial and office management to DPOs and WWDFs. He holds a Bachelor Degree of Economic Development and a Master Degree of Finance and Banking. He is interested in working with CDPO since it provides him good knowledge and new experiences to build his capacity.
